Maryland Ancillary Estate Administration, Preparation of Application By A Foreign Personal Representative To Set Inheritance Tax, & Maryland Resident Agent Services

When a main probate is in another state and the decedent owned real property in Maryland at the time of death, the person appointed Personal Representative will need to file an Application by Foreign Personal Representative to Set Inheritance Tax with the Register of Wills in Maryland.  This is sometimes called an Ancillary Probate, or a Domiciliary Foreign Personal Representative.

I am experienced in Maryland ancillary administration. If you are administering a will from out of Maryland and the estate includes real property located anywhere in Maryland, I would be pleased to represent you in the preparation and filing of the necessary Application documents and act as Maryland Resident Agent in the proceedings.

Maryland permits Foreign Personal Representatives to exercise in Maryland the same powers to sell and convey real property which are enjoyed by Maryland Personal Representatives but he or she must comply with Maryland law including notice of appointment, notice to creditors and payment of claims and payment of any Maryland state inheritance taxes which may be due.

Call me NOW at 410.524.5000 to schedule your free initial consultation. My fees are reasonable and payment plans and affordable flat fees are available.
